Privacy policy
Findle for Android · Last updated: [DATE]
Findle ("the app") is made by [DEVELOPER NAME] ("we"). This policy explains what the app does with your information. The short version: your inventory stays on your phone, we have no servers, and we never see your data.
What stays on your phone
Everything you put in the app (places, boxes, items, notes, prices, dates, tags, barcodes and photos) is stored only on your device, in the app's private storage. We don't collect it, receive it or have any way to read it. There is no account to create.
- Camera. Used only when you take a photo of an item or scan a barcode or QR code. Photos are saved inside the app. Scanned codes are compared with your own items on the phone and are not sent anywhere.
- Photos from your gallery. Only the photos you pick are copied into the app.
- Exports and backup files. When you export a list or make a backup file, the app creates the file and opens your phone's share sheet. Where it goes next is your choice.
Uninstalling the app deletes all of this from the phone.
Google Drive backups (optional)
If you choose Connect Google Drive, you sign in with your Google account through Google's own sign-in screen, and the app asks for one permission: access to its own hidden app folder in your Drive (drive.appdata). It cannot see, open or change any of your other Drive files.
- What is sent: your backups (a copy of your inventory, including photos and a short note you can add), sent directly from your phone to your own Google Drive. We are not in the middle and never receive a copy.
- What the app reads from Google: your name, email address and profile picture, to show which account is connected, and your Drive storage usage, to warn you before a backup won't fit. These are shown on the Backups screen and not sent anywhere else.
- How to delete it: delete backups on the app's Backups screen, or remove the app's hidden data in Google Drive (Settings > Manage apps > Findle > Delete hidden app data). Disconnect in the app removes the app's access to your Drive.
Google processes this data under the Google Privacy Policy. The app's use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Purchases (optional)
The app is free. An optional one-time Premium purchase is paid through Google Play; we never see your card or payment details. To check and restore purchases, the app uses RevenueCat, a purchase-management service. RevenueCat receives:
- an anonymous, randomly generated app user ID (not your name or email);
- the purchase record from Google Play (product, date, a purchase token);
- basic technical data: device model, Android version, app version, country/language, and your IP address as part of the connection.
RevenueCat processes this on our behalf to confirm that Premium is unlocked. See the RevenueCat privacy policy. Google Play's handling of payments is covered by the Google Privacy Policy.
What we don't do
- No advertising, no ad IDs, no tracking across apps.
- No analytics and no crash reporting.
- We don't sell or share your information, and we don't use it to train anything.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
Your choices and rights
All your inventory data is under your control on your phone and in your own Google Drive, as described above. For purchase records held by RevenueCat, contact us and we will ask RevenueCat to delete them. Depending on where you live (for example the EU/UK under the GDPR), you have the right to access, correct and delete personal data; contact us to use these rights.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is posted at this address with a new date. If a change affects what data leaves your phone, the app will tell you before it happens.
